Competency

The operator should be competent in both the use of the electrocardiograph (ECG machine) and the recording of an electrocardiogram (ECG).

As a minimum, operators should provide evidence of having undertaken a practical assessment conducted by another competent and suitably qualified practitioner to demonstrate their skills.

Local guidelines, alongside national standards, should always be adhered to, ensuring safe and effective practice.
